In this video I will explain the fine structure transition states for H-alpha. Before the discovery of the Lamb shaft and fine structure, we used to think there was only a single jump from the 3rd level to the 2nd level thus emitting a photon of a wavelength. But now there is the separation of the P and D level due to the direction of the spin of the electron.
